I can honestly say that the frequency of the spam and the lack of caring from Supra to bother doing something about it has made me cut my visits by a very significant amount. I'm willing to bet if you look at the forums stats (do mods have access) you'll probably find that I'm not alone.

I find it incredibly disrespectful that Supra knows about the issue and has done sweet F all. We're what make this forum tick, we add the content, we make the contributions and they get the benefit from it. i guess that's asking far too much considering no one from Supra even bothers to post here or answer questions even though that would make A LOT of sense from a marketing and customer service standpoint.

Making our own Supra owners forum sounds more enticing by the day.

    Step up Supra

Hey all, the main admin for the site doesn't work directly for supra, it's a third party and this isn't his
Main job. I agree he should fix it, but I don't know what his agreement with skiers choice is for stuff like this.

While I understand that, and I have seen that before, if he can't maintain it then maybe he should pass the torch to someone who can. I don't take on responsibilities of a job, and not do it. Whether I'm getting paid or not.

My general take on this is SC doesn't give a rat's ass. We are what make this forum run, we are the ones who keep the brand loyalty strong, and the recognition of keeping Supra a very prominent name. Their marketing dept is apparently not handling things well, no gear, no ability to brand the product as an owner, and no desire to at least communicate with it's loyal followers. I have sent dozens, and that's not an exaggeration, of emails to Supra and their marketing team with ZERO response. I've even just sent emails to people to see if they even are getting them. NADA.

This forum is full of information, loyalty, and friendship. As a potential new Supra owner, seeing this kind of loyalty and camaraderie would make me excited to know there are experienced owners, fabricators, loyalists, and fellow owners there that could help me with simple tasks and questions. But my guess is Supra sees most of us as old die-hards, who won't be buying a new 242 anytime soon, so why worry about us.

It's sad, but it looks like we're headed towards that same shut-down we had years ago. I signed up in 2006, and there was ZERO activity, nothing but spam and crap. I didn't come back for years. Happily in the last two years, many of us have strived to keep content coming and fresh. To update builds, to answer questions for new owners, etc. But as we all get tired of the endless junk, we will be headed towards that point again where the spammers outweigh the users.

If I were Supra, that would make me very concerned to know my only public outlet for Supra owners is about to go back to being garbage. But hey what do I know, I'm only in Marketing for a living.

Personally I think the admins are doing a good job getting rid of them as quick as they do. I haven't been frequenting quite as often lately, but it is the off season so it isn't always my top priority right now. Hopefully they will make it a little more difficult to register soon, and that will take care of the problem. And once it gets warm enough to get the boats out, we all will still be visiting the forum.

The admins are doing a good job? They aren't doing a thing...the mods on the other hand are doing fantastic, but that's not what we're talking about here.
