    Default Rotting wood..

My back seat and the storage door above the gas tank is starting to rot, but the upholstery is still nice. 1st, can you replace the wood inside without destrying the upholdstery and does the factory have a template or plans we can buy to rebuild them? Please help ! Jet

    Default rotting sundeck

You can replace the substrate without using new vinyl. Pull the sundeck out, remove from the hinge, and start pulling staples.(Buy a staple puller) Hopefully there is enough wood left to use as a pattern. 10 years is all we keep patterns, but basically it is the same shape as the opening, but 1" smaller.

My 90 Supra Comp had those exact things replaced last year by the previous owner. He did new vinyl so I am not too much help with your question. The problem is the wood that was replaced under the back seat is already warping....

He did not replace the vinyl on seat back. Just the seat cushions and on the sundeck. Anyone know how expensive it is to replace the vinyl on the seatback?
