Default DIY tower speaker (HLCD page 3)

    Hi Guys,
As I can't work on my boat because of winter, I would like to share this tutorial on how to build your own tower speakers.
I already gave all those informations in my boat's post, but it will be easier to find it in the audio/video section.

So, I started to draw it on autocad (DWG here ; DXF here and PDF here) and CNC it in PVC Komacel/Forex material (20mm thickness) :

I then stretch sleece material (to make sweatshirt), 300g/m² to get the final shape and staple on the top of the face (with satinless steel staple) :

Then i resin it with polyester resin. You can use epoxy, it's stronger, doesn't smell, but is more expensive.
I bondoed staple and outcrop the face.
My choice was to get someting different than painted or polished aluminium result, so i go with black vinyl, and a polished aluminium face. If you choose the same vinyl finition, becareful to use a good one, very stretchable.

Notice that I put inside the box some anti vibration material, to loud the sound and prevent from vibration noises.

    Here is the result :

The face is a 2mm thickness aluminium that I polished with standard polishing stuff and a driller. It tooks time and patience, the aluminium needs to be taped on a wood piece.

Here is the final result :

Finishing between alu face and vinyl is black silicon

Speakers are BOSS AUDIO MARINE MR695. They do the job very well for the price, I don't regret my choice. They are powerful and sounds Hifi.
    Clamps are coming from DIYwake.com

I then glued "SUPRA" in PVC material 3mm thickness
