Just finishing up replacing db42 brakes on friends DHM Trailer.According to UFP if you have a UFP 5200 lb axle with db 42 brakes, the only brakes that will mount upto this mounting plate on this axle is DB42 brakes, this was confirmed by UFP,DHM trailer and Pacicfic Trailers. Even drum brakes will not bolt upto this mounting flange. I even called Kodiak brakes and they said this is the only axle that there brakes will not adapt to.

So we ended up replacing everything with db 42 rotors, calipers and pads, I recomended he switch to db35 brakes as new calipers have a stainless piston with aluminum housing and this stands up better in salt water, but he did not want to spend the extra money on a new axle(250.00 dollars)

Pacific trailrers recomends you replace db42 brakes with newer db35 brakes but perhaps this only works with 3500 lb axles, they fail to mention on there web site that you can not do this with UFP'S 5200 lb axle

Hope this information is of value to someone out there* Pacific Trailers prices on brake parts are very good and if you order online shipping within USA is free.

Cheers Dave
