    Default cockpit heater system

2005 Launch. Hot moisture seeping from under driver feet area, with heater off. Need to know how heating system circulation layout on driver side of boat. So I can find crack or point of leak. I assume Im looking for some type of radiator type hoses. If I could look at a schematic layout to identify possible connections first then run the line.

More than likey it is the heater core itself. I've been told it isn't repairable.

That doesn't sound correct. Lots of threads on heater cores, and replacing them. From what I've read (since my core is leaking also), the core cross references with older fox body Mustangs and the part isn't more than 40 bucks. You'll need to pull the heater out, pull the metal box out and replace the core, then reinstall.

What is it you think doesn't sound right?

He said you can't fix the cracked core, it has to be replaced.

Wouldn't replacing the core be fixing the problem?

Pretty sure he is referring to "repairing the core" which, yeah, isn't possible or at least not cost effective. No one ever said, "the problem can't be fixed" but just that the core can't be "fixed" only replaced.

I'd recommend filling the heater core with non-toxic antifreeze in the winter to help prevent this from happening in the future.

    Just my 2 cents.

Repairing a core is possible as well... although it will more than likely begin leaking again soon afterwards...

Good lord! How's this? Repair the heater by replacing the core then it will be fixed. Done and done....

Thx All. Called Supra Tech 1 800 line. Roger recommended replacing
the "core". He also identified average retail cost and gave me the part number. Also quick walk thru on how to replace/repair myself. Now looking to replace stereo receiver.
