Looking at a 86 ts6m today, tips?

Going to take a look at this 1986 ts6m today. This will be my first boat of my own, dad always had one not clueless.. I want to use it mainly for wakeboarding. I've read on this forum this may not be the boat for me as the wake isn't the best like a early model sn.. Also when I look at the boat what should I be looking for? Is a soltare a better poor man wakeboard boat or will this perform just as good with a little ballast? The comp is a ski boat but some wakeboard behind them. The sunsport or soltare would ba a better choice.
