I've had this idea for a while but I'm thinking of installing some sort of waterproof camera on the rear of my boat right above swim platform angled where the surfer surfs and installing a small monitor on the dash with an RCA cable to view footage live that way I don't have to constantly turn around to watch the rider and I can see when they fall while still looking forward. I may even replace my radio with a double din use that. I would love if I could make the footage recordable and able to save for viewing later. Thought?

If your driving I would concentrate on driving. Seen a few people run up the shore from watching the surfer. The bill is spendy and hard to explain to the insurance. They tend to not like paying for accidents like that if your a seasoned boater.

just buy a gopro 3 black. they have Wi-Fi connectivity with your smart phone so you can see it real time and change settings on the fly. if that isn't a option then get a backup camera from AutoZone. I did this with my motorhome. you hook the camera up to a 12vlt source and its wireless to the camera. works great

There's also a cool device that I use on my boat to keep track of the surfer...

So far I haven't had any problems with lost connections or the resolution of the image. It never runs out of battery either! And I've been pretty impressed with the picture resolution and quality. They're pretty affordable too!

Lol. A mirror is the best way to keep an eye on the rider.

Yeah I guess you guys are right. I do have a gopro 2 and I guess I'll just use that for filming whenever I want and just use my mirror more. Thanks
