I've never had a boat with a tower before. Was wondering if people use them and what for or if they're more for show? I can see them being nice when docking at night.

I think they are primarily used for show. I just installed one this season and have only used it when loading or unloading gear from the boat at night on our dock.

I've only seen the value when trying to load/unload or docking. If you use them while driving they just light up the bow and make it impossible to see anything in the water or even other boats. A handheld spot-light is much more valuable IMHO.
