Amp wiring question

I have just installed a dual battery setup in my boat with a blue seas selector switch (1, 2, both). How are you guys wiring the amp into the power? Is it directly to the battery or the selector switch? I only have one amp right now but may add a second later. Thanks for any info. I tried searching for this but only found threads about wiring amps to speakers.

I prefer to all loads drawing through the common post of the switch. Loads draw from and alternator charges, which ever battery you have the switch turned to. You will also be able to keep one battery isolated from any loads, while at anchor.
