No Rope?

So I've been trying to surf last couple times I went out. I have a 2011 Tomcat I fill surfside completely and for now i have the 3 passengers move to the bow also have the trim tab. I can get up fine get into the wave and i think i feel when i am in the surf pocket and i toss the rope but i just sink. Whats the best way to get to the point of riding rope less. Thanks!

Whats the boat speed and board you are riding? Is this a problem with this specific boat or your surfing in general? Slow boards and poor stance/form would be my first areas to look at. 2nd, dont be too quick to toss the rope, just ride with it slack, and use it when needed. Much easier than losing the pocket and having the boat have to turn around and pick you up again.
