Default Has anyone replaced a belt on an Indimar 325 assault engine?

I just got a new belt and am trying to get some knowledge before I replace it. Has anyone done this before? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks everyone.

Wish I could help. I was going to replace mine this past spring, but after looking at it and realizing how much of a pain it would be to squeeze in there and change it I decided to let my dealer do it for me. It looked to me like it would be a lot easier with the muffler removed. I've done that before and it wasn't fun either, so I took the easy road.

Cant remember if there's 1 or two belts in there, but it shouldn't be bad. Best way to do it would be to loosen up the alternator, undo whichever hoses are required to be pulled loose, and swap the belt. Shouldn't be too bad.

Okay guys. So I changed it earlier and it wasn't that hard. Ill post pictures this Sunday. A quick Summary: I disconnected 2 hoses, 1 bracket, and loosened the alternator so the belt went over all 3 pules. I had a friend use a long flat head screw driver to hold the alternator tight while I tightened it back up with the belt snug.

    Tools needed

    13mm wrench
    13mm Socket
    14mm Socket
    Socket wrench
    small flat head screw driver
    big flat head screw drive

Just a reminder I know all engines are different but might have similarities. Mine is an indimar assault 325.

^^^ +1. Not bad to remove. Get 2 people to put it back on b/c it will take a little muscle to get it tight - but not too tight. . Make sure to have a big flat head for your buddy.

I did a write up on it on the moomba site. its not hard just need to remove the impeller bracket bolts off the block to get the belt around the impeller. About a 30 min job

Update! I am sorry I have not posted any pictures but it really wasn't hard to replace. Kind of self explanatory if you look at your engine. It is great docdrs left that link because after looking at it, it's defiantly helpful. I took the boat out today to do some wake boarding and everything worked beautifully in regards to the engine and the alternator and voltage. It is good when you can go out with no issues!

What was your reason for replacing? Just PM (Preventive) or another issue?
