    Default Circuit breaker/switch-what amp

    1990 sunsport

    problem: circuit breaker/switches failing.

not a big deal just replace. only problem, had to swap around while on lake because master switch failed and I have no idea what the amperage is for the master switch.

Does any one know? or have a wiring diagram?

discount inboard marine has them, but several amperage options

    thanks

For a switch, get the highest current handling one, so you will be safe. For a breaker, you need to stay with the same amperage as the current breaker. This may require removing the breaker to see what its rating is. Higher amperage can cause an overload on the existing wiring, under amperage and it may trip premature.

If you swapped them around, but still know which one is which, the amperage should be printed on the breaker itself. If not, I'm sure someone can take a peek under their dash and see... I'll do it next time I'm at my boat if no one beats me to it.
