    Default ACME 543 Prop

After doing some research I was thinking of buying an ACME 543 (13x11.5) for my Legacy. Just wondering if anyone else is running one and your thoughts. I also looked at the ACME 1229 (13x11) but I think that would be a little much, is anyone running the 1229? The only thing I haven't figured out is the details about the cup, this one is a .080 cup. I know it has to do with the cup on the blades but ACME seems pretty standard while OJ props seem to have a lot more cup options.

I have been running the 543 on my Sunsport for 2 seasons now. I am VERY pleased. It has as much hole-shot as my 13x13 4-blade OJ with the top-end of my 13x13 3-blade OJ or Michigan Wheel.

I run an Acme 541 (13x12) on my Saltare and wish I went with a 13x13 to keep RPM a little lower. Not sure that helps you with a smaller lighter hull and a 351w though.

My Legacy has the a 350 in it I like it better than the 351w. This will be my first prop upgrade though. I have also had a Saltare (454) but only for one season. I think you should have Atleast went with the 543 (13x11.5) or 1229 (13x11). Just based off of stuff that I have read. The 541 is the comparable stock CNC prop for my boat.

Mine is the 351W, 1:1 drive . . . The 543 was recommended by Rich at Discount Inboard Marine and as far as I'm concerned he was right on the mark for my particular boat.

Word! I know that's right! Seems like the best choice from what I have read. Main reason I like the 350 is it is so much easier to change the impeller.

The impeller pump is an auxiliary unit belt-driven off the front of the motor. I don't see how it could be any easier to change.

Mine just has a 4 screw cover sorry to get you going. The Indmar 350 is better all day long though!

You didn't get me going, I guess I just didn't see the difference. I like my PCM 351 and you like your Indmar 350 - no worries so far as I can see.
