The palisades that line the river are pretty spectacular in the fall though. I'm planning a 70 mile fall journey on the KY river from Frankfort, KY to Carrollton, KY - the confluence with the Ohio River, 4 locks involved - in September, so this was a bit of "testing the waters".

Indeed. I used to ride in a fairly narrow spot. Gave it up and travel farther to open water these days as the areas between no wake were only about 3/4 mile long so you got wore out from all the turnarounds. My buddy rides at an even narrower spot. Nice and long in a valley so it's almost always calm. Turnaround at one end it reasonably wide, the other is pretty tight. Not bad if you have a long enough stretch to ride and not be constantly turning around.

I want to do something to clean up the turbulance caused by the teak swim platform (line the bottom with a thin sheet of plastic maybe), but I cant be mad about this coming off the back of a 30 year old boat:

Looks great Korey. You need to bring her to the Southern Supra Reunion next year!

I took a break from my boat this weekend and went down to the Florida Keys to dive for lobsters and spear fishing.

Marvin - that looks like a blast! Is that a rental house or something you own?

It really is paradise out there. We were staying at my girlfriend's uncle's home (the one holding the spear gun). He is the host of The Saltwater Experience on NBC and Fox. We are lucky to have his fishing expertise out in the waters.
