    Default Cavitation

I'm sure the old heads have experienced cavitation, but I got it for the first time yesterday. It scares you, since it feels just like a slipping tranny.

We were loaded with 10 on the boat and started with surfing. I usually switch to tubing while the bags empty, but this time the right locker was not draining, and had 1000# of water trapped while we started to pull 8 on 3 tubes. The engine started reving on its own up and down by several hundred to 1000rpm. With the heavy load I was afraid the tranny was slipping. I finally figured out it was only during turns that it happened.

Anyway, it was so unnerving that I stopped and manually drained the bag into the bilge. Just thought I'd post for those that follow...our Supras will pull stumps, but they do reach a limit!
