Default 2015 or 2014 SC owners with Surf set up advice

Just purchased a 2015 SC400 and planning on taking it out on Sunday for it's maiden voyage. I test drove and surfed it earlier this year but wanted some advice from experienced owners who have played with their surf swell system. As much as I'd like to listen to the salesman's pitch I would like to hear what you have to say. If this is in another thread I apologize in advance.

Congrats! That's a great looking boat. Big picture is don't get too frustrated, all boats take a little time for the owners to get them dialed in. To start off with, for surfing, fill all the ballast, turn on the swell system but don't use the barrel yet, it's a little harder to setup. With the ballast full drive around and find the right speed for your boat by starting at 10mph and slowly increasing the speed until the wave looks good. Once you are close to a great wave move some people around a little to fine tune the wave. Keep an eye on where people move and how they affect the wave so you can set it up quicker next time.

Do all this without someone surfing so you can see the wave better. Once you have the wave where you want it, jump in and give it a try. And have fun with that great looking boat!

I just bought a 2015 SE450 And I was very disappointed till I got ahold of the Supra Engineers at the factory . The swell surf tabs have a lot to do with making a nice wave . There's a way to pre set them and it makes all the difference in the world . Actually it was our sales rep who got in contact with the engineer . Try that route and I dont think you'll be disappointed .

I just bought the 2015 SG400 Worlds Edition and having issues with starboard side Barrel. I do understand starboard side is more difficult for the Barrel due to the rotation of the prop. Any tips? My dealer gave me setting for Port and Star side and Port side works quite well (even though it's just been our family of 4 wife, 2young sons and myself). Settings were 100/80/80 plate at 0 and 10.6mph to surf Port but the setting of 100/80/100 w/ plate at 0 and 10.6mph on starboard side give a good skim but barrel sucks... can't get the white wash out. Just have factory ballast and bags (2 in rear and both sides up front).

Here is the settings that I got from the Supra engineer . This is a good base set up . You can vary the bow ballast and especially the center tab . Good starting point for center tab is between 30 and 50%.IMG_0313.jpgIMG_0312.jpg

One more thing . The barrel setting is something I believe is not going to be continued . So only use skim mode . Barrel just does not work .

What I have been told is the barrel is awesome but only works if you have a boat full of people.

Ill make a point of trying it when I get at least 10 people . Supposedly the factory is not continuing barrel setting starting 2016 . Did you get a chance to try the settings ?
