    Default Surf Wake Shaper Dimensions...

Decided to tackle a project. Found some old insulation foam boards and thought I'd try to make a surf wake device with it. Does anyone know the dimensions on the Ronix Surf shaper or the wake shaper that velcros to the side of the boat? Right now, I'm at 24" long and 11" tall. I can make it whatever width in 2.5" increments. With all pieces, it's at 18". Any help appreciated.

Well...for anyone interested, it turned out pretty good. Tracking a straight line at 11mph. Just need to fill the 350lb sac on the back seat (it's just filled partially in the vid to offset my weight). There is a 550lb sac on both sides of the motor. More weight should give it more push.

The dimensions ended up smaller than I initially stated. I only used 4 of the 7 foam pieces and cut them down as well. In addition to the 550 sacs on each side + partial 350 bag, I also had the facory 400lb hard tank full. Probably a total ballast weight of almost 1600lbs. Filling the 350 all the way and a few friends along should make a huge difference. Plus I can move people around to fine tune.

How did you waterproof it? Guessing it floats?
I used a skateboard ramp but haven't gotten to test it out yet, I was going to spray foam it so it floated.
I like your idea though, my concern is about it getting wet inside.

I just used rubberized paint (for undercoating vehicles) initially to see if it would work. Now, it's fiberglassed and painted with marine engine paint. Yes, it floats. The foam dives it buoyancy. Got the Velcro (industrial strength 2") from Home Depot.

Looks good! What did you final dimensions end up being? I am in the process of fabbing up something for my 89' sunsport, I think we have similar hulls

This is added to my winter mods list. Don't have to drill holes in the boat. The Ronix shaper is rediculously priced at $600.

So it just velcros to the side of the boat? Would think the force of the water would pull it off.

    Cool.
