Default 1988 Supra Saltare 454 Thermostat Part Number

Hi all - anyone know what the part number is? Can an automotive thermostat work? If so what part number? I sat at NAPA today for an hour and we couldn't find one that was even close.

    It's discontinued.

You have to fix the factory one with acid/soda bath, or change the housing + t-sat.
You can read my T-stat adventure from here (3-4 pages of reading) :

I fixed mine with baths. it works perfectly since 4 years now.

Sybrmike posted pics of the new housing on page 26.

I always used a stock 454 thermostat in mine but I wonder if it's because I had changed out the intake to an Edelbrock Performer II? It was a drop in part and I changed it regularly. Never had an issue with fit or function.

Thanks Wotan - do you recall what the part number was? We tried one from a Chevy 3500 454 and it was clearly smaller in diameter.
