I've been running around 10.5-11. I have 150 pounds worth of sand in the front. So I think more weight up front may be what I need. Should I only run 1 of the 750's on the surf side and not both sides? I am using a suck gate as well. Thanks for your help! I know I have to be close.

If youre using a suck gate, run 750s on both sides.

Yeah, youll want more weight in the nose. You could also try experimenting with a bigger paddle or more angle to delay the convergence more

Would 400# be a good place to start for bow weight?

yes, i run a 650 up front if i don't have any passengers sitting there. if i have passengers up front, i'll put it under the seat and put enough weight in it to equal 650 with passengers.

Okay I will try that hopefully this weekend if the weather will hold off. I'm also running a acme 1458 prop I'm seeing where everyone else is running the acme 913 so I'm thinking maybe this could be part of my problem?

that's definitely going to be a problem when trying to get on plane. the stock prop is a 13" pitch, so you're even less than that with your 14" pitch prop. when i had my stock 13" pitch prop i couldn't put more than 1000lbs in the boat without having a problem planing out. now with my 10.5" pitch i can get on plane no problem with 2000+ lbs in the boat.

nettles has great prices on props, i got my 913 for $375 shipped a few years back. i checked and your prop is a RH though, and the 913 is LH. you would want the acme 912.

What kind of rpms do you run with the 913?

off the top of my head i don't know, but it's not super high when running full surf ballast. i'll have to get back to you in a week or so once i get back out there.

top speed with the 913 is around 35 but i've hit 38 once or twice on a perfectly calm day. that was just out of curiosity, i don't run the motor at high rpm's like that for long.

Gonna try and order the 912 from nettles today. Last year the motor was straining pretty hard trying to plane out. Also how does the 912 do with no ballast?

it will feel like a rocket ship out of the hole with no ballast, you will be pleasantly surprised. you'll lose some top end speed, but like i said you can still cruise in the low 30 mph's with no problem.
