Default 1989 supra trailer (manufactured by SMP) specs

I inherited a new supra with original trailer. in order to get it inspected in CT I have to have a vin number (. i don't- sticker is very worn). So i have to re-vin it. in order to do that I need to know the specs for the trailer.
Does anyone know what the GW for the 1989 supra trailer is?
Do i need to have the boat on the trailer to inspect it?

Also, does the trailer need to have breaks because it does not. I took it to the landfill and it weighed 4160 with the boat which does not sound correct as the boat manual says it weighs 2350 lbs...
    Please help

What year, model is your boat?
Is your trailer a single or double axle.

Check with a scrap yard scale as well. Make sure they all have recent Weights and Measures certifications on there scales as well. As scrap yard may read light and a landfill may read heavy. After all, they both make their money based on weight!

I'm still looking for a trailer to move a 20' Sunsport Skier. If anyone knows of one near NJ...I'm desperate! I need to move the boat asap.
