    Default 2006 21V water intake

My 21V has 2 scupper intakes underneath the boat. One is for the ballast, and the second for the engine. It appears that the engine intake runs through the V-drive unit before heading to the engine. Is that correct?

It just seems a little odd to me - not that it is a problem.

    Thanks.

Welcome to the board! Your situation is completely normal. The raw water intake runs through a cooler that cools the transmission fluid.

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure I was understanding correctly how it was routed. Things were a little different on my DD MasterCraft.

That is very interesting; My transmission cooler is secondary to the water pump, thus not relying on 'scooped' water but pumped cooling.

Yeah, that was how my other boat was. Not sure there is a better or worse option, but wanted to make sure I was seeing it correctly.
