Alternator output on PCM 351W over 15 volts

1994 Supra Comp TS6M with the Pro Boss 351W. The voltage gauge on the dash started acting strange, sitting at 18 volts when the engine is running, so I checked it out last night. Engine off, the battery is about 12.4 volts and the gauge shows 13. Engine on, the battery is at 15.4 volts (gauge shows 18 volts). Output at the alternator is 15.7 volts.

Is there an external voltage regulator on these, or do I just need to replace the alternator?

Internal regulator , replace alternator , look at DB electrical they have some nice ones .

Anyone happen to know which one I need. Was looking at the ARCO website, but I forgot to take a picture of the alternator last night.

It's internally regulated but you can still swap out the regulator. I'd try that first if I were you. You can buy the regulator by itself but it's cheaper to get it in this kit:

Ended up buying an alternator off of amazon so it'll be here Thursday. $70 for AMN0002 (that's the DB electrical part number) which cross references with Mando 817119-2 (the part no on my alternators sticker)

I'll probably get a rebuild kit to have the original as a backup, but I didn't want to lose any ski time. Figured it'd take me less time to swap the alternator right now than rebuild it since I haven't rebuilt one of them yet.

You made the right decision. That alternator uses a different voltage regulator and may be harder to service. I don't have any experience with it. I had assumed it was a newer 1-wire type model.
