    Check all your intake hose clamps, you could be sucking air. Remove your thermostat housing and check for corrosion or other deposits and assess your tstat to start

    That's pretty critical to know if you are winterizing your own boat. Unless it was removed, you should have a strainer...and if you have never checked/drained/ or cleaned it, that very well may be the problem. If it froze over the winter, it could have cracked. Then, being on the suction side of the pump, the pump may only be pulling air. And, of course, you may have lucked out and it is just clogged.

    Only strainer I am aware of is for ballast and the scoop strainer under the boat. But I'm no expert and may be missing something
