Default What years was the 22SSV available with 8.1L?

I've been doing some thinking about what my next boat will be, and I feel like the 22SSV's with the 8.1L Vortec are the sweet spot for me. Can anyone help me with what years this combo was available. It seems the 8.1 is pretty rare, but I sure do love some extra power - enough to wait until I find it! It seems like about 2005-2009ish? In my way of thinking, the earlier the better, the less flashy graphics the better, and the more real gauges (and less computer screen) the better.

Also, in any of those years, did they make the 22SSv WITHOUT the steps - I think I'd still prefer a full bench...

I'm also looking to verify dimensions of the boat on the trailer.

What else should I be looking at? I'm expecting this boat to be in the low $40's. I've loved the 21V's that I've been on, but as far as I can tell, there is no big motor option...

Any particular reason you want the 8.1L? It's a great motor but a gas hog. Especially once it's propped out. I really wanted one too when I was buying my '06 but the 340hp 5.7L is a beast with the right prop.

And a shameless plug... I've got an 06 24SSV for sale I'll sell you for way less than 40k! 306 hours... pm me a number and I'll text ya some current pics if you're interested.

Your signature is part of the reason.. Overkill is underrated! I'm fueling a 1986 (1958 design) 454 now, and it's not killing me. Sure lower fuel costs are better, but not if I'm disappointed every time I hit the throttle.

I spend a lot of time on a 340 Assault equipped LSV and I feel like my saltare is stronger and not turning the R's at surf speeds (despite mine being "propped out" with a 13x11" 3 blade)

I like the 8.1, but only been on the 24' with the big motor. I've seen them listed in classified ads. I think they were in 2007-8-9 as an option, but would assume they were in the World's Edition. Sounds rare.

My 22' has the steps, I would do without.

I have a 2007 SSV 22'. Are you looking for overall dims? Length, width, and height w/the tower?

I got a 2012 Sunsport 242 for cheaper than they are asking for that boat and without those horrible graphics.

I debated the engine when I bought mine. Glad I went with the 5.7L.
I like the fuel efficiency especially with 60 gallons to fill.

Yes, I'm very much interested in dimensions! Most compact storage configuration is most important to me - tower, platform, tongue, etc folded.

Well, all of this may be for nothing.. I think I've talked my myself into preferring a 21v again... Maybe.

I think i don't like how much space the rear facing seat in the 22ssv and sunsport 22v eats up. I definitely don't like the stairs, but looks like they can be had without. If i ran into an 8.1L 22SSV without the steps and without crazy graphics, I'd probably go out of my way to bring it home despite the rear facing seat. Otherwise 5.7L 21V may be target #1. Which puts a later generation Moomba XLV on the radar. My experience is that in that time frame the Supra fit and finish was heads and tails above the Moomba, but current market pricing doesn't seem to reflect that.

Still interested in any input on either model!

    Thanks!
