    Default 2014 - SC350 - Do I need more Hp?

I bought my 2014 SC350 this spring and I upgraded the rear locker ballasts to 1250lbs per side so I run a total of 4000lbs of ballast. I am finding the boat is struggling to get to surfing speed (10.8-11). I changed the prop to a 14.25x14.5 (1235) and helped a bit. What are my options to push that much weight?

I have the same boat, motor and prop. I don't run that much ballast, around 3350, but I usually don't have any issues. You might call Acme or wakemakers and see what prop they recommend.

I have a 5.7 liter in my 242 and same exact prop. I don't think a prop change will make any difference.

Noticed my boat only struggles if the weight is not balanced properly. Only a couple of times has it been an issue and all I had to do was shift people to front of boat to get bow low and boat planing. I've had 14 people onboard fully loaded with ballast and no issues, however, I only use 3000 lbs of ballast and a suck gate and don't need any more to create a great wake.

The prop will make a HUGE difference. That SC should be able to handle a 15" prop? I think you definitely need to call Acme and find out which one is best.
