Default 86 Saltare replacement steering wheel

The original 2 spoke steering wheel in my 86 Saltare has gone floppy. Probably glued together internally, and has finally given up after 31 seasons in the hot sun! Pic from google for reference:

I know that I can't be the first - what have others done for replacements? Forum searches aren't really leading me to any good answers... I have seen lots of things that I don't really love. I ordered this from Overton's today, but I don't think it will have enough "dish" to work with the dash layout. I've always wanted the wheel to be a little closer (but not the seat closer to the dash) anyway...

No billet aluminum or colors that belong in a fast and the furious movie... No plastic that belongs on a bass tracker. It's been surprisingly difficult to find something worthy!

The Teleflex "UFlex Corse" in Black/black may be another option

The grip material looks kind of crappy and cant tell anything about the dish in the full pictures...

They both look a little flat, might have to make a hub spacer

I agree. I'd rather have the offset in the wheel as opposed to making a spacer.

i replaced mine. had to remove the plastic trim hub under the wheel. Also took out the black trim piece. I don't remember if I didn't put It back because I was lazy or it wouldn't fit with the wheel. I replaced the whole steering mech at the time though too.

pretty sure it was something like this:
