Default Wakeboard Tower on 1984 Supra Comp

Has anyone on this board installed a tower on an older model Supra. I have a 1984 Supra Comp that am planning on installing a tower on here in the next month.

If so I would be interested in seeing pictures if you all have any available.

Also, if you have any suggestions to make the installation or the acutal use of the tower better I would appreciate your suggestions and advice.

Planning on building an installing the tower myself!

    Thanks,
    Traveller

    Default Tower add-on

Supra boats did not have a feasable laminate schedule to support the stresses of a tower at that time, In 2000, all Supras' can physically take on a tower. With proper fiberglass reenforcing of the deck, providing backing plates, and mounted with the proper adhesive/sealant,you should not have any other issues. Make sure to countersink all tower feet mounting screws to alleviate cracking.Brian Raymond

i had a tower put on mine 2 1/2 years ago ('87 Saltare). i've had no problems, no cracking. it was made locally, otherwise i'd recommend them.

check www.diytowers.com for some homemade towers and help. the guy that set that up seems very helpful from what i've read and heard. he started his own tower business but set up the do-it-yourself site to help.

nice looking tower, t-bone! that's a '97 Comp? I love the color scheme, same as my '87 (pic linked a few posts up).

When did Skier's Chioce take over? I didn't realize they kept those paint schemes so long.

Oops. It's a 1989 Comp. I'll take care of the typo.
Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the compliment.
I can't wait to get to the lake and try this thing out!

TBone - Nice tower. I have the same color Supra Comp - 1990. Yours looks to be in great shape.
How much was the tower with install?

    Hi Kevin,

I got the Roswell tower at
    http://WakeboardBoats.com/Phase4/hom...s.asp?DeptID=6
The tower is $2289 (free shipping). I worked with Brad Clayton.
Great guy, good to work with.

I did the install myself. Roswell says 1 to 2 hours. That's probably
close if you have 3 or 4 guys. I did mine by my self with a pulley
system I have for my truck topper. Took a bit longer, but not too bad.
The worst was the driver side rear leg. It's a long reach from the
speaker hole to the backside mounting plate. Very tedious.

Let me know if you would like more info or pics.

I like the colors. Basic but timeless. Thanks for the kind words.
    How's that 1990 doing?

My 90 is doing well. Just the regular maintainance stuff to do on it.

I still can't believe how good that tower looks. Great job.

If I keep long term that could be a project I would do.
