Thread: Perko switch

    Default Perko switch

So we bought a 2008 Sunsport 22v and evidently it’s had several different amps in it. It currently has pro 60s(trashed surrounds) on the tower, kicker in boats and 2 kicker 10” 4 ohm subs. The in boats are driven off the head unit and the tower and subs are driven off a single jbl ma704!!!! We have a kicker non marine 500x1 amp we’re going to put on the subs and will drive the tower off the jbl bridged. My question though is about the perko. I should have the starter wire on the common and the batteries on 1 and 2, correct? The sound system battery was the only one tied to the perko. Just trying to clean everything up for this season and do surgery once it gets too cold.

Everything but the auto-bilge, goes through the common output of the switch.

Would this wire/breaker be for the auto bilge? I have the heavy gauge positive and negative coming through the floor to the right of this with another smaller ground that seems to be paired with this wire. Both are about the same size.

The Auto-bilge would be a brown wire, about 18ga with an inline fuse. That looks like the helm BUS supply.

^^ This was how my 07 was wired. That was the main helm breaker ^^

Ok. I didn’t see any brown wire under there but our bilge has constant power from somewhere even though the float switch no longer works. In the process of replacing the pump. I’m just trying to get this temporarily cleaned up and the plan is to get some hdpe sheet in the offseason and build an actual amp rack and do everything under there correctly.
