There is no concern with black vinyl with the chill tech vinyl.

The midnight blue flake is awesome, would you consider adding a little blue to accent the exterior and interior to make it POP?

The 3 color pecan laser floor looks amazing in person.

Hi Larry, Dealership had the blue like you show above and it was not for us. Here is our last years boat (same as proposed this years) and its interior. We do wish the new interior gave a few other options. We felt that having a blue line outside on the bottom did not give license to putting the light blue it inside with Black and Tan other than piping. I like the blue accent inside but lost that vote to the wife and daughter. I have been trying to find a live pic of the lazer floor. On the 3 colour gator step, is it cut out or just shaved?

So, couple questions for you guys Oldernotwiser and Larry.

How long does it take to receive your boat once you place the order with the dealer?

What percentage do they ask for a deposit? Can you back out of a deal?

Does your build slot correlate to a specific calendar date or is it factory chosen? Do you have a say in it at all?
    Or perhaps a lottery system?

Does your dealer Olderwiser just keep a build slot open for you every year? I know you’re in Canada so do you sell the boat before you have to worry about winterizing it?
How many hours do you average a season?
You had one 550, followed by two 450s. Which do you prefer and why? Did the 550 3 years ago end up being more expensive than a 450 two years ago or last year?

How about you Larry? Do you live in AZ?
If so, much warmer climate so season is longer, what’s your average season hours? Why the SA over the SL? Price? Size? Or something totally different?

Just very curious about all this. Thanks.

Deposit $2500 fully refundable as long as you are ordering a boat the dealer can sell and not a green and orange with blue interior.

My order went in 10/31. My build slot is in December and depending on weather will arrive to dealer in January or February. Each dealer gets so many build slots for the year. SC only has capacity to build 1700-1800 boats per year. (1200 moomba and 500 Supra). So when build slots are full, they are sold out. My dealer sold all of their Supra slots by October this year and only have a couple moomba slots left.
The pandemic has caused boat sales to over triple. Boating is one of the few family activities you can do outdoors. Certainly not a normal year for boat sales.

That said. I won’t get the boat until spring when the lakes open as Dealer has to water test it as part of delivery. I live in Michigan.

In 2018 I chose the SA over the NEW SL based solely on cost, big mistake. Despite the $10k+ price difference, the SL was latest tech and features. Should have got an SL.

Fast forward to now, I chose the NEW SA over SL because the SA is the latest greatest tech and features and the SL will be redesigned next year. Same price. I have plenty of room in the SA and it’s just the sweet spot on size.

SA is also just a perfect boat for my family and crew, does wakesurf and wakeboarding at epic levels. Also fits perfectly in my barn

I average 50 hours per year. Although, I see this next year increasing based on the trips we have booked.

4 years ago I was dead set at never owning a boat, the old “bust out another thousand” and two best days of boat ownership is first and last rang in my head.

Wife and son talked me into it, and the last 3 summers have been incredible!!! One of the best family decisions we made. I knew going in that we had a 5-8 year boating window as my son will be going off to college next fall and likely will want to do his own things as he grows older no doubt. Going to enjoy these family summers while they last.

Larry Arizona from Michigan. Got it, my bad. 😂 🤦🏼
    Good info so thanks.

I like the blue black combo you picked however these new interior colors are too dark and Porsche looking for my blood. I sometimes wonder if there is only one interior designer that works for all the surf boat manufacturers as they are all so similar nowadays. Can’t tell one from the other with those aerial view shots.

$2500 for a deposit isn’t as high as I would have thought, just don’t order a Skittles boat from them.

Sounds like you keep a boat a few seasons longer before changing over. I put 50 hours on mine about every two months but I do live on the lake. When trailering, I used to average about 25 hours a season so do you trailer or are you on a lake?

Have you had to use Supra warranty ever? Any problems with boat from factory? Fit or finish?
Is there a break-in period for the motor?
When you buy a truck, they want you to wait a thousand miles before towing but assume heavy surfing is ready at hour zero?

Few more questions you don’t mind. Thanks in advance.

Yeah sorry on the forum name confusion.....it’s my porn name (middle name + street I grew up on).

It was hard picking the dark interior as my fear was HOT seats. But I rode in the 2019 Supra PWT boat on a 97f sunny day with a black and red interior and the chill tech vinyl was not hot at all.

My 2018 had the peanut butter interior which we loved, but just wanted to change it up. I am glad you said Porsche like as Supra absolutely is going after more automotive like interiors. The contrast colored stitching is the trend.

I don’t live on the lake anymore, trailer to several local lakes within 3-10 miles and take 2-4 trips per year with the boat. Michigan has a wealth of lakes to visit and my 2018 saw 19 different lakes and was affectionately nicknamed lakewhore.

I trailer it everywhere as it tows easily. Goes from barn to lake and back to barn 3-4 times a week in the Summer. Got it down to a science. Barn to in the lake in under 15 min.

Supra fit and finish is high, on par or better than the other premium brands in my opinion. Never used the Supra or indmar warranty on my 2018. Solid built boat, no issues.

Break in period is 10 hours with a detailed method directly from the owners manual, super easy to get done in the spring when the water is still too chilly to surf. Just a few cruising days gets the break in done.

Lots of questions, I will respond in order.

The 2018 was an in stock boat when we traded our Mastercraft. The other two were ordered in November and I had them by April. Dealer gave me an approximate delivery but since we have ice until May, not a big deal. Have always traded until this year (sold private) so no deposit as my traded in more than covered that. I have winterized, very easy process by the way and have stored boat until new one comes in. Dealer knows how I keep my boats so no issue there.

We average just under 120 a season.

Prefer the 450’s over the 550 solely due to fuel consumption. That 550 was incredible but huge overkill. The 450 with late 2019 transmission is more than enough power. That being said, if it was a little better on fuel and wasn’t such a huge up charge that is what I would have. You do not seem to get it back on resale.

And of course the 2018 cost less than the following 2 years. 2019 was huge leap in improvements, a few in 20 and a couple more in 21. Supra improves every year and unfortunately so do costs and increases. Our 2020 was our favourite all around.

As far as SA or SL, they both have the same tech, SA is foot shorter and has the pickle fork. More room in bow vs SL which has more room in cabin and traditional bow. Purely a matter of styling in my opinion. Price is so close. How can you go wrong.

This is great stuff guys. I really appreciate your responses. I attend the boat show every year and keep up to date with what is out there. There are things I like about the newer boats and many things I find ridiculous but regardless; the prices just blow me out of the water.
Add on financing for x amount of years and can't even fathom paying that price for a boat. Maybe the select few can write a big fat check and have no worries, but not me.

My dilemma is that my lake house has increased in value 60% over the last five years and I owe less than a new SA450 price tag for it.
If Supra could make a boat that sleeps 12 in beds comfortably and increases in value when you drive it off the lot, then I may have a chance to convert the wife to a new surf monster.

Seriously, glad you guys shared with me this information and how you feel about your decisions. I mean if you got it, flaunt it, use it. Good to know Supra still makes a quality product and crazy for me to think they sell out all their build spots.

Hope you post some pics up once you get them this spring.
