Default 2017 sr 400 noise shifting forward to neutral

When shifting from forward to neutral there is a squeal that almost sounds like a something metal spinning dry with a gasket around it and squealing. Only last about 5-7 seconds but loud and happens frequently. Is there something that spins "DUH" I know the prop but when you shift is there something that secondary spins but then stops when you shift to Neutral? The noise is when first shifted into neutral. But prop on boat not turning.

Check your alternator belt. The tranny is full of fluid, so not likely to squeal, but anything that changes the speed of the motor could cause the belt to slip.
