    Default Overheating issue resolved

    I had to post this here. It might be worthy of an award. I think the last five failed water pump impellers were in there

    Interesting. I change the impeller annually to prevent that, but I did have a small chunk of one impeller flake off a few years ago. Now I know where to look for it!

    That is interesting. My '86 has the trans cooler on the suction side so I'm not sure where chunks would accumulate. Thermostat housing, I suppose. I install a new one every odd year, and remove it every year so that it drains completely, and I store the impeller in a relaxed position, out of the pump over the winter.
