    Default Hour meter.....

Wanting to put in a new hour meter to go along with my gauge panel upgrade/revamp, however, I don't want anyone to think that I did it to make the boat seem like it has very few hours upon resale. Is there a way to get a new hour meter to match the same hours as what the boat has on it now?

I know I could keep the old meter to show at resale and add what the new meter says to it to get actual hours, but I am sure that the old one would get lost and I wouldn't be able to use it.

    Any suggestions??

I put a new hour meter on my old Mastercraft a few years back. I bought a lantern battery to hook up the hour meter to so I could constantly run the hour meter to the correct hours before I installed it into the boat.

    Default Hour meter

I have tried to hook it up to a power source and all it does is come on but the meter doesn't move. It is a Faria tachometer w/ hour meter. Has a ground, battery, and signal posts on the back of the gauge. Any other suggestions?

Post is old but it has to be a 14v battery to move the hour meter
