At the risk of bringing up an oldddd thread, I wanted to first say thank you for wasting my entire morning at work...I have deadlines man! Secondly, you are making me more and more sure that I want to buy this: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/2638839257.html

I would be cautious. With no mention of the stringers or floors condition, I would be really cautious. The boat looks good, but the price is high.

Ckruse12 and cavilry thanks. This thread will never die as long as I own this boat.

She is dewinterized and ready to rock. hoping to do a couple minor upgrades this year, nothing special. We mostly surf still. Love the new engine and the new prop. Still trying to get beer on tap in my boat

sallyliao it's an aftermarket Bennett hydrolic trim tab installed by the original owner.

How long do you have to wait til the water up there in Minnesota doesn't freeze you to death? I looked and tried to find on your thread what happened that required the new engine but can't find anything. Did the block crack or something?

Hey Maple! I brew a LOT. http://mikerobrew.blogspot.com/ Yeah I'm back thanks for the support

D I dropped her in on Saturday, air was 72. No water temp, sorry. It was fine at the landing, but SHOCKINGLY cold in the middle of the lake. We didn't try to board. A couple years ago she started making a blowback noise (kinda like a backfire) and she would lose power sometimes. I took her into my mechanic (never use a dealer!) and he did a compression test and 6 of 8 cylinders had low compression. Rather than rebuild my engine I found a factory rebuilt 351 on craigslist and brought that to my mechanic who dropped it in and tuned it and etc.

Haha yeah we boarded for the first time this year almost a month ago (only been once since) and I got a wetsuit this winter so it wasn't too bad for me. My friend boarded without a suit...he's nuts! Almost went completely numb lol. Can't wait til it feels good to jump in the cool water The water at our lake is already gettting tolerable...up to about 63 I think.

Ah nice...well hopefully that rebuilt one will last forever!

Dandaman and waitowski thanks for reading. I know it is a long thread!

Well I ran into some problems this spring and had to keep her our of the water for a couple weeks. Boat is overheating, water pump is suspect after changing three impellers. Changed and should get tested this weekend.

I also had some water coming into the boat. This was a real mystery. It turned out to be a leak where the exhaust pipe exits the transom of the boat. Now it has been sealed with silicone. My boat has solid exhaust pipes, but I guess some boats have rubber 'mufflers' inline. To find this leak we had to cut a small hole in the floor under the rear bench seat. This was really stressful to do, but it revealed that my stringers appear to be in near-perfect shape. I know that is hard to believe, so I will knock on wood for good luck. I am gonna have to rebuild my rear bench seat sometime soon too. Hopefully a little bigger for a little more ballast.

Hoping to take her our this weekend and for fourth of July. Hope everyone is well.
