Default When Did the Wood Go?

It seems that the older Supras eventually end up with rotten structural wood (From reading this forum, anyway. Please correct me if I have misinterpreted something). It also seems that Supra no longer uses wood (unless I misunderstand the unibody construction page).

Question: When did Supra stop using wood, and when did the lifetime hull warranty start? Is it transferable?

    Thanks for any input!

Why has no one from Supra responded to this question? I emailed Correct Crafts and got an immediate answer to this question for their boats: 93's and up have no wood.

I called Supra a while back and they were informative on wood in Supras and answered all my questions. If I remember it was also around 93 when they went to fiberglass stringers and floor. There was another date that was given for all composite but I do not remember what it was. I believe the last wood to go was the base for the clamshell engine cover. Give them a call if you have not got an answer.

I've got a 92' Comp from which I purchased new in Oct/91. I do know my boat does not have wood stringers. I believe it was the 92 model year where Supra mad quite a few hull changes while also removing the wood.

I have been told mid-year 1992. I know my '92 Mariah has all fiberglass in the stringers.

The life time hull warranty is transferable by a dealer two years from original purchase date. The warranty covers floors, stringers, and cracks. However it does not cover gel coat cracks. This info is in the 02 owners manual. Rob at Skier's Choice confirmed this as well. THANK'S for the help DKJ !

I looked at a new comp and an impulse in 1991 and was told they had gone to glass floors and stringers for that year.
