skypole how to tighten wrachet

my skypole has a wrachet that you tighten after you put the pole up how do you get to the wrachet???i dont like stepping on the deck, is there any other way????

the only thing i can think of is maybe (maybe because i don't remember exactly how it's all hooked up)...maybe you can turn the cables around so the ratchet is closer to the bow? reach from the trailer?

i don't think there's anyway around having to use the ratchet.
