I know it sounds like a stupid question.
I am having a hard time seeing it on the dipstick.
Is it me or is it kinda hard to see?

thanks for any help

It should be on the drivers side under the exhaust and spark plugs. You will have to get on your knees to see it. It is a short dipstick, kinda blends in.
you should be able to see it. The trans fluid is a pinkish color same as in most all cars! Can you see fluid in the trans when you look into the dipstick whole with a flash light? It only holds about 3 quarts for a normal velvet drive 71C.
I can not see fluid in the dipstick hole.
It is a PCM trans.
I know this sounds like I have never worked on a boat, but it is far from the truth.
I changed the trans cooler, and want to ensure that I have enough.
It seems to be working fine, but it is a lot harder to see on the dipstick than I would have imagined.
There is some on the dipstick, but I have got to lay it on a rag to see how much.
One more question, if I overfill it, what is the easiest way to drain some out.
Thanks for the help with this most basic maintenance procedure.
If you don't have an oil pump, what about using a clean turkey-baster? (don't steal
the one from the kitchen - you wouldn't want to put it back after this use).
