    Default Bilge Pump

    Is there any easy way to change out a bilge pump on a comp??.. Pretty sure its not rocket science, but needed some opinions.. Thanks

    Just put a new one in this season- the original lasted 18 years! The wires are long enough to pull the unit onto the deck to make the new connections, and a couple of screws hold it down. That really is about it- just make sure to test it before putting it back in the hole!

    Hey Thanks!, Thats what i was wondering, the space is so tight, didnt know if there was any slack to get it up on top of the deck.

    I'm a big fan of heat shrink's on the wire connections, they're water tight!!!!!

    Solder and heat shrink is the way to go.

    Actually I use crimp connectors that have a heat-shrink sleeve as part of the connector, then regular heat-shrink over that!
