Default Your total boat weigh-in (displacement)

Just wondering how much water people are pushing for surfing.

Formula is dry boat weight + ballast + crew.

WakeMikeys boat 87 SunSport 19.5' weighs 2225 dry,
    + 1670lb ballast fully loaded (350bow, 275rearlocker, 225rearbenchseat, 720floor, 100lead),
+ crew of four people est 150lb each is 600lbs
    = grand total of 4495lbs.

    How much are ya'll pushin?

Yeah when I look at dry weights of boats, it is very interesting. My older boat is advertised as having a kevlar-reinforced hull to reduce weight. At 2225lbs it is lighter than most boats. Norm for a newer boat is at least 1000lbs heavier dry. What is up with that?

I don't know, seems as though technology would send things in the opposite direction to make boats lighter and more streamlined. Maybe with the so called "wakeboard" boats...heavier is better due to the increased water displacement and resulting larger wake.

Well I assumed it was for a stronger hull that could withstand the increased beating of waves, doubleups and being weighted down.
