Well, this was early in the learning curve but this is the best pic I could find. Not bad but I think we fine tuned it a bit more later in the season.

Not the best pic but it gives you the idea of the height.

It was my nephews first time.....reason for the tight rope.

Thanks but I want BIGGER AND BETTER. I hope to improve it this season. However, last season it was super easy to free ride. I could get up on the board and by the time I had my trunks & vest adjusted the rope was useless... just toss it in and ride. The wake you see pictured is done with...

    2005 Supra 21V
1050 lbs in the right rear
    650 in the ski locker
    wake plate 3/4 up
    running 2800 rpm (approx 10.5-11mph)

I'm planning on more ballast overall this year (I'll have to tinker with it) and upgrading to the OJ wakeboard prop 14.25x14.5. We'll have to see how it goes.

No weight up front? I personally would say it would work a lot better in the bow pushed to one side versus in the center belly ski locker... Once I start to get more than 1300lb in rear, the wave pushes you into the boat too much. It is a real short pocket unless you add 3-400 in the bow.

    Mikey,

I don't run up front weight. I tried one day but it required stealing from the rear and was not satisfied....i need more. I do want weight in the front to produce a longer pocket even though the one we have is pretty good.

    Doc,

I have the factory 250lb integrated in the right rear and then I have room to place a 400lb bag directly in front of it, equals 650lbs. I then have another 400lb bag sitting on the seat in the right rear corner above them. Then there is the 650lb integrated bag in the ski locker. Toward the end of the season, I was told to fill both right and left factory 250lb bags and then add more wt to the surf side...this allows the max amount of water displacement to occur with available ballast weight. I tried this and it did improve the wake. To quote what I was told, "First sink the whole boat and then add additional weight to your surf side".

Today, I purchased someones factory integrated 400lb bags for left and right lockers to replace my 250lb bags. So, I'll gain 300lbs of ballast over last seasons weight with this simple change.

My initial attempts will be to fill both right and left 400lb bags, add one 400lb bag to the surf side locker (stack it), fill the 650lb ski locker bag and take my other 400lb bag and put at the bow. This will give me a total of 2250lbs. I hope this configuration will give me what I'm looking for. Plus changing the prop. Oh, and there is usually a 180-220lb adult on the sundeck (surf side).

This was my third time going. The wave seemed decent. I haven't surfed behind any other boats so I dont have a lot to compare too.
