454 sucking gas??
I was looking at a boat the other day that had a 454 in it. I can't believe this is even a question, but w/ the way gas prices are going, it is a concern now. I bet gas on the H2O this year will be over $3 a gallon. How are the 454's on gas? I would say my time is spent 60% towing/40% putting around. Any info helps! THANKS!

Big Blocks need big gas tanks. There is one exception. If you pro weight a wakeboard boat you might actually do better or at least even with a big block. The key here is having the touque to keep the rpm' s down. But watch out when you blow the ballast and cuise down the lake and pull slalom skiers or barefooters requiring high rpms - you will pay.

my 454 loves gas. Keep the engine well tuned...you know the basics, but generally the bigger the engine, the more gas.
