    Keep us posted,
Regular rubbing compound? I've gotten into trouble using 600 grit emory paper on small scratches, with thinning of the gelcoat. Are you going to replace the stripes?. I think the waves are still available from Anthony but I don't think the stripes are still around. Nice work!

Nice! I think that stripe dated the boat. Looks far cleaner without.

    Kevin,

Awesome job. I just did the three step rub down this week on mine. I'll try to post a few pics. Do you like it without the stripes? Mine are still in pretty good shape except for a couple spots. I'd like to know how you feel about loosing them. --David

    hey david,

i'm looking forward to the pics

i like mine a whole bunch without, the lines and look of the boat are much cleaner. i liked the stripes before i took them off. i had buffed them before and that cleaned them up too. but, i hit the dock a few times too many when tied up and there were some big chunks of stripe missing in a few spots. replacing them doesn't look like a fun job, especially now that i'm glad they're gone.

i hate tieing up at restaraunts and stuff....docks are never long enough. the rear boat cleats are always further out than the end of the dock so tieing them to the dock cleat means that the boat is being pulled forward. pulling the boat forward puts the bow on the front wall and that is no good. i usually have to tie some weird triangle around the tower or something.....that's why the roller stripes on the back of mine were a little beat up.

that looks sweet! Nice job on the gelcoat. My stripes are in great shape and I think they make the boat look like a classic. However, I like the look without them too. Have you considered the newer metallic waves to replace the old ones?

    Kevin -

Nice job on the boat. Do you have any pics of the entire boat from the side? I have an 89 Comp with the same colors, and I'm thinking about taking off the decals, also.

If you do, you can email them to me at [email protected].

    Thanks, Kraig
