Default Help on moving ski pylon

I am about to start ripping up the floor and replacing the interior on my 1990 Mariah. I was thinking about relocating to the ski pylon the back of the boat right behind the back seats. Has anyone tried to do this or have a opinion on it. I have searched around and can't seem to find any info. on the subject.

So are you wanting it to be between the back seat and the ski locker, basically?

You might be able to do that. Does yours connect to the stringers on the sides AND to the floor where the tracking fins are?

Yes it does..My plan was to pull the old pylon bracket and fabricate a new one to put back in the old brackets place. Then modify the old pylon mount and glass in some new additional braces in the rear to mount it to.

That might work. There is some room behind the rear seat base if the Mariah is similar to the Sunsport back there. There's quite a few pictures in my rebuild thread to give you an idea. The strut and steering cable mount is back in that area and might be a good spot to try to fasten the base of it down to.

That sounds like a great idea! I would also suggesst that some aftermarket towers are rated for skiers and one tower is rated for tubes.
