Just wondering how many gas cans, or gallons of gas you bring onboard to have that little reserve supply in case you get close to running empty.

0 ... i watch the fuel gauge
I have a 52 or 53 gallon tank, though. I say a prayer each day before we head out that we wont use it all. Haha.
I have never brought extra gas. I have brought a car battery jumper pack but not anymore with two batts.

I bring four five gallon cans when I go on vacation. I run all day with full tank then extra twenty gallons.
I just drained all of my gas out to get rid of moisture using a pump off of the tube before it goes to the gas filter. There was 3 gallons left in it after the gauge read Empty.

My TS6M holds 15 gallons, and if I have to commute to the play location, I can use all of that fuel in an afternoon. I carry a three gallon can in the bow ahead of my feet, to get home on. I've had to use it several times...
