Default "2001 Supra Launch ss" The right buy?

I'm seriously considering buying a 2001 supra launch ss. Am I making the right choice?

    Primary use: Wakeboarding
    Secondary uses: skiing & surfing

The boat is in really good shape with 270 hours on the 5.7L PCM HO motor. Has all the toys and looks amazing. Seller wants 23k (Canadian). Any and all thoughts please! Any one had issues with this model?

Its a dd boat i believe, you want the ssv if your primarily wakeboarding.....I loved my dd but unless your hardcore skier then you want a vd....the resale value on dd has gone way down in the past 7 years imo

It's still a great boat but like doc said the dd's are not very desirable anymore. If you are going to shell out $20k most people want a v-drive.

You might want to look at the CC Super Sport Nauti V 1995-99 for $18-23 loaded or the MC 205V late 90s for similar price. Hate to say it but they came out with V-drives earlier and they are more easily available.

The 01-03 Super Air Nauti V's are about $28-30k fully loaded.

With that said the wakeboard wake will still be great and the surf wave too on that DD. There were a few wake movies shot behind the Launch too. Google it.

Thanks for the feed back. All the 2000 and up V drives within a 10 hour radius are 30k and up. Malibu, MC, and Nautique seem to be way over priced and it seems like no one takes care of their boats around here!

With the right weight placement I should be able to push the same wake as the ssv right? I've also got some nieces and nephews to teach, has anyone had a boom on this model?

Having the heavy motor in the rear does help a little bit but not a deal-breaker unless you are a pro. Mostly a convenienve thing because if the more friendly interior layout.

If the boat has a ski pylon or a tower you can hook a boom up to it.

As you know I have the Launch DD with all the goodies. 1st boat for me and am loving it too. I do barefoot on it as well. I have a BI boom that mounts just perfect. The wake is pretty good. I will try to take some vid and pics this weekend for you.
