    Default Clutch Pack

Is it difficult to open the transmission and chage out the clutch pack and seals? I took off the trans and replace the damper plate but now it is still not right so I need to over haul the trans.

Dude, I have an 87, and have had the tranny rebuilt...I didn't do it myself, but it cost me about $900 for the whole tamale. If you can do what you did, you can do the rest, I'd bet. Good luck and please post how it went!

Thanks blue saltare, thats alot of $$$ for the rebuild, getting the tranny off and replacing the damper plate was no big deal but now I'm just trying to get the time to tear into the trans and replace that clutch pack. I'll let you know how it went. Thanks...

M1, did you do the clutch pack....how did it go? Did it fix what you were hoping? Did you have to pull the tranny to do it?

Ended up taking trans off and having my mechanic look at it, the trans is unrebuildable and I now need a new or rebuilt trans ( $1400.00 ),,, NOT good.
