1986 Sunsport Engine

I am looking at purchasing a 1986 Supra Sunsport from a marina. They stated that the 351 cu. inch engine had been rebuilt. I asked about the horsepower rating and the stated that it was 330 hp. That seems high for that engine from that period of time I was thinking it was more like 240. My question is..does anyone know if the 1986 Sunsport had a 330 horspower engine option available? I am assuming that it is the original engine, just checking to see if anyone knows if the stated 330 hp is accurate.

The 86 Sunsport has a 351 Pleasure Craft Engine with a 255 horsepower rating. I own one and just checked it a few minutes ago.

thanks. That is what I thought...I sent a note to the marina yesterday trying to confirm if it was a PCM motor and if it was the original motor. Thanks for your help.

for whatever reason, www.nadaguides.com shows the sunsports with 330 hp. that's the same hp rating as the 454 engines.
