    Default open the engine box?

Hey, I was riding with a friend with a '90 Mariah. Before he covers the boat, he props the clamshell cover open about 2 inches.
He says a dealer recommended this to prevent condensation inside the cover from the bilge. Seems like a really good idea. What do you think?

    Default I do the same

I do the same thing with mine. No one ever suggested it. I just noticed the condensation and I spray out the engine area after riding in salt, so I wanted to make sure it dried out in there.

I also put "Damp Rid" containers in the boat with the cover on to remove moisture in the air.

    Default This works

After we use the Launch we open all the seats and engine cover. Then i place a Air dryer/ heater in the center of the boat to help fight moisture. I just leave the device on all the time and I have noticed a huge difference this season in black mold growth. The model i bought from my dealer was good for boats up to 24'. So far its been worth the money.
