Default I think my season is over...

I usually ride the St. Croix River -- after 4-10 inches of rain last week it went above flood stage. All of the boat launches are now closed and the entire 26' mile stretch of river has been declared no-wake. Bah!

I'm sitting here at my desk overlooking the Mississippi and the water has gone up a foot in the last 12 hours. It's now 9 feet above where it was in August. The marina across the river from me has water up to their buildings and the boats in dry-storage cradles have water licking at their running gear. I think it's supposed to go up another 3-4 feet before Sunday.

The water temp has been holding pretty steady at 55-58F (right at my limit without a wetsuit.) I think this will be the first time in 10 years that I haven't ridden in October. Bah!!

I'm going to hold, too.... Water temp is still sitting at 56 on the St. Croix... Might get the gift of one more day if the water goes down enough!!

My season ends when the water temp and air temp combined is less then 100. I'm up here in chicago and lake Michigan is way out of the question. Dropped down temp super fast. In the high 40's or low 50's. But air temp during the week is holding out around 60's and we got the Illinois river around the same for water temp. So I'm hoping to rip untill the end of the month. Fingers crossed. And yeah wet suit for sure. No question at this point.

Nope. Don't have one. I rode last year until water temp of 52F. I'm crazy. I spend stupid money on so many boat related things but can't justify a wetsuit.
