    Default Oil Leaking

I have a 1986 Supra with about 800 hrs on it. I noticed the other day that oil is collecting on the top of my intake manifold but I cannot tell where it is coming from. Could it be blowing by from somewhere or is it leaking? Could it be blowing by from around the fill cap which appeared to have alot of oil on it?

There is no way to tell over the internet, but possible leak areas are
    cracked intake
    valve covers
    pvc valve if so equiped
Also make sure its not fuel - sometimes fuel will leak from the carb- work on the black paint and then look like oil.
If you have the Holly carb - the front bowl or power piston gaskets tend to leak after awhile.

    Lew,
I had the exact same symptoms with my boat last fall. It was blow by coming through the vent tubes and leaking out near carb. That was how it was pooling on top of intake manifold. The bad news was it turned into a short block rebuild. The good news was that I got through the whole thing for only about $2100 including paying a mechanic to put it all back together. Boat is stronger than ever. And...I sold it.

    Good luck.
