    Default Jumpin' Fuel Guages! Batman!

I was checking out Moomba's post page and came across posts complaining about fuel guage needles jumping back and forth. The posts were answered by Brian Raymond and he said he would check into it at SC and post some info later. I couldn't find his reply. On our 02 Legacy the gas guage jumps around when the key is turned even halfway and still in the lift. Any news on this?

The electrical system in most of these boats is at best poor. I am an aviation Airframe and Powerplant mechanic and this wiring is truly crap. It needs to be soldered with rosin core solder. (acid core will evintually fail. corrode.) Double up on grounding circuites. Bond wires to the engine and gauge panel and controls. Wire it like you would wire you house to code. It will illiminate most all off you problems. Even with the cheap gauges ect. Good luck.
